Una disculpa. Se hicieron unos cambios a los calendarios que se mandaron impresos. Estos son los calendarios del mes de abril y mayo ya actualizados.

Responsabilidades

En las próximas vacaciones de semana santa, además de descansar, podemos organizar  y dividir el trabajo en casa para que todos cooperen. Lo habitual es que alguien olvide lo que tiene que hacer, y como muchos de ustedes que me conocen hace tiempo, saben lo que pienso de la autonomía, la responsabilidad y la organización, que son elementos básicos para que nuestros hijos, no importa la edad tengan una vida más fácil.
Aquí les dejo un organizador, que pueden imprimir, para que en estas vacaciones arranquen la operación "Todos ayudamos en casa."

La semana pasada tuve la oportunidad de presenciar las exposiciones de Science de este grupo.
Fue realmente una sorpresa ver cómo explicaban su trabajo hablando inglés.
Quiero recalcar, que hablar español frente a un público es muy difícil, ahora, imagínense que hacerlo en inglés es el doble de difícil.
Como siempre, es muy importante recalcar, que el apoyo de ustedes, como padres que prestan a sus hijos es palpable. Todos los trabajos son muy pero muy creativos.

5th grade. Lemon Pie

En días anteriores los alumnos de 5to grado A. Elaboraron una rica receta. Se basaron en una receta e instrucciones totalmente en inglés. ¡Gracias a Miss Laura por todo su empeño y a todos ustedes por participar con los ingredientes!

St. Patrick's Day en la escuela

Definitivamente, esta celebración estuvo llena de alegría. Todos nos divertimos y pasamos un día muy pero muy verde. Gracias al apoyo de todos ustedes y al entusiasmo de todos los alumnos del colegio pasamos un gran momento!!!!

                           

Saint Patrick's Day

El Día de san Patricio (en irlandés: Lá 'le Pádraig o Lá Fhéile Pádraig) se celebra anualmente el 17 de marzo para conmemorar el fallecimiento de San Patricio, Santo patrón de Irlanda.
El Día de San Patricio se celebra a nivel mundial por todos los irlandeses e incluso muchas veces por gente que no tiene ascendencia irlandesa. La celebración generalmente tiene por temática todo lo que es verde e irlandés; ambos, cristianos y no cristianos, celebran la fiesta regularmente vistiéndose de verde, disfrutando de la gastronomía irlandesa la cual incluye col y bebidas irlandesas, y asistiendo a desfiles.

Se sabe muy poco de la historia de San Patricio. Se conoce que nacio en Bretaña en el siglo IV, y pertenecia a una familia adinerada. A la edad de 16 años, fue secuestrado por unos asaltantes irlandeses y fue llevado como esclavo a Irlanda, años más tarde, escapó y regresó a la isla de la Gran Bretaña, en donde estudió para ser saserdote. Después regresó a Irlanda a cristianizar a los habitantes de ese país. Cuenta la historia que San Patricio usaba los tréboles para explicar el misterio de la santísima trinidad.
